Today I have been to Bangalore ITPro UG Meet 14-July-2012

Its been another Bangalore IT Pro UG Meet today.  Probably my last one before starting the fasting month.  I was 10 minutes late but just after my friends Sudeeptha (blog | twitter) and Manas  (blog | twitter)  reached.  Below was the Agenda for the day:

This time we had a short chat before the sessions started, topic were around from what technology audience belong to and what is their expectations from todays meet. Anil Malekani did a reasonable job on explaining the topic, even though the planned content didn’t fully fit into the scheduled time.  Anil did make sure the session goes interactive.  The speaker did explain different types of Cloud (Public, Private, and Hybrid).  Cloud Attributes of Self Service, Automation, Usage Based Billing.  System Center 2012 Demo was done quite well.  Good to know about Self Service and Orchestrator Components such as Service Offering, Request Offering, Templates and Approval Work flows.  Finally a use case was shown on User provisioning in Active Directory.

The Second session was my favorite, it was fully about MSExchange, and I must say the speaker did handle  it excellently well.  Aravind did explain Full Text Indexing from Exchange 2003 to 2007 and 2010.  Quickly and effectively (to an Exchange Admin :-) )  Aravind did explain well Outlook Aspects of Search, Windows Desktop Search Integration, Exchange Server side Search components.  On a side note to know that in a DAG Scenario the passive copy builds the Content Index and keeps it up to date so that there is no lag in a failover due to the need for synchronizing content index data.  The features explained did include, Instant Search, Advanced Find, Search Folders, Server Side Search Index Folder Locations, Troubleshooting Tips  etc.  In short, an informative session.

Now the interesting part, it was fun to have conversation with Sudeeptha, Manas, and Praveen with many Teasers from Sudeeptha, ya he doesn’t like Outlook, he is a SQL guy.  I did meet Pradeep Rawat whom I have seen from Powershell Bangalore User Group (twitter | facebook).  Finally I met Mr. Raakesh from chennai who did speak Malayalam (my mother toungue) well. I had a chat with UG Lead Kaliyan.  By the way we did announce the Inaguaral Powershell Bangalore UG Meet also so that the guys are reminded.  Ok, so that’s it from a Quality Technical+Community Evening.

Whats Next: Powershell Bangalore UG Inaguaral Meet on 28th July 2012 - I am looking forward to it with lots of interest.  There will be one session on PSv3 and Getting Started with PowerShell by Powershell MVP @Ravikanth ( A post from the speaker and host ), Agenda for the @PSBUG Meet:

Cheers!
